Garden Celebrations

This year Abigail's Garden has been completely orange and white.. but on the morning of July 4th, she got up and went outside and found she had 1 single blue flower, and one red poppy! What a beautiful gift!

Fourth of July 2013

★☆This year the blogger in me wanted to do something new and different, but the Mommy in me gave in to my kiddos who want to repeat their favorite traditions.
I wasn't sure I was even up for a BBQ this year, but I couldn't let my sweet children (or our friends) down! ☆★

The red, white and blue drinks are tradition, but the fresh strawberry lemonade was new.

The burlap banner was my inspiration, and I ran with that as my theme.I used burlap as my tablecloth and tried to keep that color in my decor.

The children insisted that we couldn't skip the marshmallow sparklers, or jello parfaits.
I did make new Potato chip bags.

Strawberry Pie is also a tradition that couldn't be broken.
But a Happy Birthday America cake was new, and so were the sugar cookies.
Burgers and Hot dogs were still on the grill, and the beans were on the stove.

 Potato salad

and this year we added root beer floats

Even Kitty was patriotic.
As well as our nail color ;)
After the BBQ we grabbed our picnic basket filled with snacks  and headed to our favorite fireworks spot with our wonderful neighbors.
It was another beautiful holiday!

Fourth of July 2012

We repeated a lot from last year. The pies, the jello parfait, the watermelon stars, and marshmallow sparklers.  The burgers and hot dogs of course ;)

We also added a few new things this year.
 And Firecracker cake
And I took our layered drinks large scale and loved the results!

And for our fireworks watching treats, we made Smore Pops and the much demanded by all our friends and neighbors "Jello Popcorn"
