That is 38 countries in 12 months! Not counting the times we did a country a second time (because we learned about it from a second source, at a later date, usually). Or the times we loved a dish so much we added it to our normal meal rotation.
There were countries that unexpectedly became favorites (Iraq, Greece), others I thought would be favorites, but we didn't love (Morocco), and some that have amazing memories attached (Argentina, Japan).
This started as a way to add a little fun to our homeschool year, but it has absolutely enriched MY life (not to mention the rest of my family), and become a way of life! I have developed a deeper passion for these countries, an expanded palette- craving new spices, new cooking skills and so much more.
I can't wait to see what our second year brings (because of course we aren't stopping! There are so many more countries to explore!)
