I decided to try a new hot chocolate instead of my normal recipe {which consists of unmeasured amounts of vanilla sugar, cocoa powder and milk}.
I absolutely loved it. It was a tiny bit more work, but it was so much more indulgent!
First, in a small saucepan mix 1/2 cup sugar with 1/2 cup water and bring to a rapid boil, whisking constantly. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Keep whisking until smooth. Mix in 1 cup of heaving whipping cream and transfer to mixing bowl. Place bowl in refrigerator (I was impatient and used the freezer) until mixture is thoroughly chilled.
When it is cold, whip on high speed until it becomes a chocolate mousse (or looks like whipped cream).
In your small saucepan again, heat 1 cup of whole milk per person.
Place 1 heaping tablespoon of mousse into each of cup. Then pour the warm milk over it, and just give it the teensiest stir .
Enjoy!

Wow, that looks so good. For my birthday I was given some chocolate chips and I could use them to make this.
