We learn about butterflies every few years, and here is how we do it in our home.
We get all the books about caterpillars and butterflies we can from the library, everything from baby books to adult books. And we read them together. These are a couple of the ones we have now:
We order caterpillars and watch them grow.

We read the chapter on Lepidoptera from our Apologia science book.
We're having so much fun and learning a ton at the same time!
I wish you and your children could have been in my back yard with me the other day.....a HUGE yellow and black butterfly swished past me....it was so big I could almost hear the flapping of the wings! To see a special butterfly is like a little present when you're outside.
