Yet again, I come away from Passover evening blessed and humbled. This year has been really rough for me, and I went into it with low expectations, but the Lord met me anyways. I ended the night in tears of thankfulness.
If you have never celebrated the Passover, but are curious, please try it. The Lord meets me in such a precious way each year, as we try to glorify Him.
That is not to say we didn't have snags. It was still a Seder with children, it will never be as perfect as I plan it. Abigail was quite disgusted we were "killing" and "eating" her beloved stuffed "friend", and protested the entire evening.
Searching for Leaven
In the Bible leaven (yeast) represents sin. When the children search the house sweeping up piles of "hidden" leaven, we talk about how we are to use the time leading up to the Passover to search our hearts for hidden sin, so we can confess and repent of them.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 1 Corinthians 11:28
Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cornithians 5:6-8

Tonight we rejoice that in Jesus' death we have found life. In Messiah's coming, the Passover is complete!
