New and Improved 15 Minute Alfredo

A few years back, I found this recipe, and used it as a quick stand by for when my husband was deployed (he hates all things with alfredo sauce), because fettuccine has always been a favorite of my kiddos.

15 Minute Alfredo
 8 oz package of cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1  package of fettuccine noodles, cooked
Just heat it all up in a small saucepan, stirring often, and pour over noodles.

Since then my son has taken over cooking it, and we have it for lunch sometimes instead since {Praise the Lord} Daddy is home every night for dinner!
This week, he asked if he could makes some changes to it, since it is a little thick, and he wanted to make it a little better. I was all for it.
Sohe made some changes (and I made sure he wrote down everything he did) and it turned out better than ever! 

NEW AND IMPROVED 15 Minute Alfredo
 1/2 cup butter
1 clove garlic, minced
4 oz cream cheese
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 
1/4 cup ilk
1/4 cup cream
1/2 teaspoon  garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 package of fettuccine noodles

Put the butter in the pan with the fresh garlic over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the cream cheese, cream and milk and seasonings.  Whisk constantly until smooth and creamy. Turn off heat and stir in cheese. Pour over noodles.

  1. That is so cool that your son was able to tweak a recipe and make it his own - and even cooler that he actually improved it! How old is he?
