I love lighting candles during winter. They makes the house smell delicious, they make the house seem welcoming and cozy... I just love them! I love turning off all the house lights, and eating dinner by just candle and Christmas light!
And here in the top corner of the U.S., night time starts EARLY in the winter, so it helps make the house cheery in those long dark hours instead of dreary!
This year though, we have kept a pillar candle lit on the coffee table all day every day, and I took some advice from Courtney, and each time I look at it I have prayed for peace in our home, and I have definitely felt that prayer be answered over the last couple weeks!

Oh, how much I love candles and the wonderful smells and just watching the flame. :)
ReplyDeleteWe light lots of candles during the cool part of the year. Which is NOW! I had a candle making kit when I was little I've always enjoyed 'wax'.
ReplyDeleteI live candles too, so relaxing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...I too pray for peace when I see the lit candle...:)
ReplyDeleteWhen the power goes out, my daughters bring their candles from all the nooks and crannies and arrange them on the kitchen table. We've kept warm with 40 candles lit all at once. When my younger three were really small, we gave them kitchen sink baths on one dark, electricity-free night; by candlelight! We've played games by candlelight; it's so much more 'dreamy' that way!
