Revolution in World Missions 2

I wanted to share more of what stood out to me in this book.

"Very few seem to believe those who die without Christ are going to  hell where they will be tormented forever and ever in a bottomless pit where the fire is not quenched and they are separated from God and His love without any chance of return. If we knew the horrors of the potential judgment that hangs over us-if we really believed what the Bible tells us is coming-how different would we live. Why aren't Christians living in obedience to God? Because of their unbelief...If you believed the Bible, it would make you the most desperate person in the world to give up everything you have to keep reaching the lost your top priority".



"Nothing is more indicative of the moral decline of the West than Christians who have lost the passion of Christ for the dying world."

He also talked about modern missions, which are more about meeting the needs of the body than of the soul. 

"Modern man unconsciously holds highest the humanistic ideals of happiness, freedom, economic, cultural and social progress for all mankind..but sin is the root of all human suffering...Substituting a bowl of rice for the Holy Spirit and the Word of God will never save a soul and will rarely change the attitude of a man's heart... Jesus Christ in the answer to all man's problems."

I am not on the Asian mission field, but I was convicted about how little I try to lead those I know here in America to the Lord. I am guilty of thinking if I show them kindness or bless them physically, then that is enough. But it truly isn't. The lives of my friends and even family are at stake. I must give up my fear of their rejection and be bold in Christ. 


"The Church has lost her reason for existing.  Substituted  are teaching and reaching for prosperity, politics and social involvement.Christianity is now tragically below the New Testament standard. Worldliness is an accepted fact of our way of life. Our religious mood is social instead of spiritual.Many churches have slipped so far from biblical teaching that Christians can not explain why the Lord has left us here on earth.The main activity of the Church is to go everywhere proclaiming the love of God to a lost world "
