Don't Make Me Count to Three

I finally  got around to reading: Don’t Make Me Count To Three by Ginger Plowman.
It was pretty  good, kind of a refresher course for me. I REALLY liked the wording in Appendix A: How to become a Christian.
Just a couple quotes that stuck out at me from the book:

It’s not that difficult to train our children to ACT like Christians. We have REALLY accomplished something if we have trained them to think like Christians. Thinking like a Christian will help them grow in wisdom and prepare them to govern their behavior in a way that will glorify God. We encourage them to grow in wisdom by discussing God’s viewpoint in all situations.

If we could only view all their sinful behaviors as precious opportunities to teach them, we would be far more righteous in our training. We would be joyful and eager instead of angry and frustrated.
We are robbing our children of the blessing God intends for them when we fail to require obedience. When we call our children to obey us we are preparing them to obey the Lord.
