Still Small voice

I  often get irritated by the bulletins that say "if you believe in God repost this" and get on my soap box saying that believing in God is not enough, for even Satan believes in God and I’d rather see Christ lived out in people’s lives than get a bunch of these useless bulletins, but Tozer took this one step further. A great start to the book in my eyes!! I truly pray that our hearts would be on fire with LOVE for our God!

This was one of those things that makes perfect sense but I have never stopped to look at it in this light.
Are you saved? Then I trust that you find yourself hungry for God’s Word, thirsty for His presence! It hurts my heart to no end when people say I "accepted Christ", thats enough I don't need religion/church. "Accepting Christ" is a phrase found no where in the Bible its part of religion that I see as a disservice to people who claim to be Christian. It is not a one time event. Being a Christian is an active lifestyle of seeking and pursuing not a casual acceptance.

Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You O God, My soul thirsts for the living God.

AW Tozer deliberately encourages a mighty longing after God, as do I! "I want to taste, touch with my heart, see with my inner eyes the wonder that is God". Isn’t that a wonderful pictures? I know truly it is what I long for every day!

This book I am currently reading was written over 60 years ago but he wrote something that is so true for today! He said that we were living in an age of religious complexity where instead of the quiet simple seeking of our Lord, we replace the true act of worship with programs, methods, meetings and a world of activities to "get closer to God" when all they truly do is occupy our time and attention. These can never satisfy the longing of our hearts, and I know I have found this to be true for myself! No matter how great church events and services are I cannot be close to God unless I am setting aside daily quiet still time to listen for God’s still small voice in my life. With all the commercialization and busyness of even well meaning Christians, no wonder the peace of god is so scarce!
So my prayer is that we will all just take the time to sit at the feet of our Lord, actively seeking His Will and presence! Its through this time that He will really be able to use us more than any busy activity we can sign up for on our own will!
